Know Few Baffling Theories of Parkinsons Disease
Parkinsons disease
is the result of the death of certain brain cells which causes the trademark tremor
condition. Although we have a lot of information on this disease, it causes, and
the treatments, there is still a lot more to uncover on this condition. The cells that produce Dopamine are found to be reduced in the patient who is suffering from Parkinsons disease. This is the condition in 75 to 80% of the cases. Why these cells are dead is still a mystery in most of the cases. In some cases it is linked to the consumption of more alcohol and abuse of drugs. If the person abuses alcohol and drugs for a long period then this condition might occur soon. There are many theories surrounding the death of these cells. However lot of money is pumped in to the research on the causes of the death of these brain cells. According to one theory the toxins single out a nerve and causes extreme damage to it. Based on this it is found that there are number of toxins that do this damage to the brain cells and stimulate the Parkinsons disease. The free radical theory is the second theory and according to this theory the free radicals that are produced in the body cause injury to the brain cells by reacting with the iron for oxidation. This causes that condition. The basis for this theory is that it was found that the patients were found to have increased iron levels than that of the normal. This lead the theorists to believe on the free radical theory. The third theory backs up the genetics. Many researches and testing are going on based on genetics as the cause for the Parkinsons disease. It is found that around 20% of the patients of Parkinsons disease have a relative who had Parkinsons disease or certain symptoms of this disease. The key genes that causes this disease are found and it is believed that the mutation of these genes / chromosomes cause this condition. Accelerated aging process is the basis for the fourth theory for Parkinsons disease. It is found that the levels of dopamine are decreased as you age. When the aging process is accelerated, the levels of dopamine decreases faster causing this condition. In some patients the aging process is fast and this leads to the Parkinsons disease. All
these theories are drawn to believe that the truth is somewhere in them for the
frustrating and demoralizing Parkinsons disease. Parkinsons
